Panamá’s Best-Kept Secret
One of the world’s few inhabited volcanic craters — a natural paradise of mountains, waterfalls, and hot springs.
Nestled at 600 meters in the crater of an ancient volcano, El Valle de Antón is a world apart. The mountain air is cool, the forests are lush, and the pace of life slows to the rhythm of birdsong and flowing water. Whether you come for a retreat or an independent stay, there is no shortage of things to discover.
From dawn hikes to afternoon hot springs — every day in El Valle is an invitation to explore.
The iconic hike of El Valle. The mountain ridge resembles a sleeping woman, and the summit rewards you with panoramic views of the entire crater. Moderate to challenging, with some steep sections.
A spectacular 35-meter waterfall surrounded by cloud forest. Part of a private nature park that also features a canopy zipline adventure across the treetops and over the falls.

El Valle’s famous weekly market comes alive at dawn. Fresh tropical fruits, orchids, handcrafted Sombrero Pintados, Molas, wood carvings, and authentic Panamanian food stalls.
